If you are new to freelance photography and trying to sell your photos, follow these six simple steps:
- Take pictures keeping in mind what and how to present to the widest audience;
- Group together all pictures related to the same subject, select about 20 of the
best pictures that you like, and make thumbnails of the absolute best of that collection;
- Make a search using freelance-market.net to find several magazines that are
interested in that subject;
- Submit a request to an editor and attach thumbnails; if you have a story
associated with pictures, indicate that;
- Once you get confirmation of acceptance from the editor, submit pictures as the
editor indicates – burned on CD, by email or uploaded to magazine’s FTP site;
- Be patient and wait ... but wait, you can submit the same pictures to more than
one magazine!

What is it that keeps us coming back for more? Is it the children with red noses, hot chocolate, mittens and the sense of community? Or the tradition of bringing Santa to town? The pull of the Santa Claus Parade beckons and lightens the hearts of young and old. Take some time this holiday season and enjoy one or all of our local Santa Claus parades.
